We would like to post your experience here!
Remember it is time for Influenza and Rhinopneumonitis for all boarded,
traveling, and showing horses. Horses need this vaccine every 6 months to be
protected against Influenza and Equine Herpes Viruses 1 and 4 (aka rhinopneumonitis).
We are starting to see some impaction colics in older horses with the
weather changing. We do recommend feeding a mash to older or colic-prone
horses during periods of weather change and very cold weather . Mix as
follows: 1 to 2 lbs of their regular grain, a pelleted senior feed, or
alfalfa pellets. Mix with an equal amount of water. Add 2 tablespoons of
epsom salts, 2 tablespoons of regular table salt, and 1/4 cup vegetable or
corn oil.. Stir well. Heat in microwave until very warm and let sit until
pellets/grain is soft . Feed a few times per week during changing or very
cold weather

We are a mobile clinic located in the Jackson MI area. We serve
the surrounding areas of Parma, Spring Arbor, Munith, Stockbridge, Chelsea,
Dexter, Ann Arbor, and beyond. We are a full-service
equine clinic, entirely mobile/stall side.
We place a real emphasis on the horse-owner
bond, and on trying to develop strategies to make
veterinary care less stressful for the horse and the
owner.
We have some unusual hours--Mon, Thurs, Fri from 11 am to 8pm, and Sat
and Sun 10 am-4 pm. With the current economy, we hope
not having to take an extra day from work for horse care
will help horse owners out!
We offer emergency services
24 hrs/day 7 days a week |

Case of the Month |
|
This case may be a little gory for some,
but we are very happy with the outcome!
This case involves
“Alex” a 1 yr old Quarter Horse
gelding. He was found following some
turnout time with a large laceration
into the muscle over the front of the
shoulder. The owner had plans to show
him extensively, soalthough sometimes
wounds of this type are left open due to
issues with healing, it was decided to
close this one.
